Boys’ Center in its new face
On the 16th of June, VAROD Boys’ Center- “Amalamarial Vidivelly” celebrated its day in its new premise together with the VAROD staff that also commemorated their day on the same day.
The celebration of the opening of the dormitories and the refectory/study hall section was marked with boiling of the milk, followed by The Eucharistic celebration. Lunch was shared and all the staff performed different cultural performance at the end.
The Boys center had been in the rented places prior to its arrival to Pambaimadhu. After being shifted to three places, they boys were happy to see their own place; almost after 3 years.
The center is still in the process of being built. The center is being designed with the multipurpose hall in the middle surrounded with seven units with different purpose. The multipurpose hall is being built with the monetary support of MISEREOR who currently support the centers and the CBR programme in Vavuniya. Another unit had been built with the donations received from few well-wishers. Still six are to be built for the full realization of the center.
