Livelihood support by Pforzheim- Shree Nagapoosani Amman- VAROD Friends, Germany

Four Persons with disability (PWDs) were helped by Tamil Families from Pforzheim, Germany for economic development. The event took place in “Claret Shiloam” Kilinochchi. the CRC leaders from the group of the beneficiaries had participated in the programme.

Each was helped with LKR 65,000.00. The four beneficiaries are very severely affected families due to their disability and socio-economic conditions.  VAROD, with the consent of the donor, had changed the amount into two; 2/3 as grant and 1/3 as revolving fund to pay back to the CRC group to which they belong.

The beneficiaries are:

  1. Mr. S. Vigneswaran with sight impairment, from Nedunkeny, Vavuniya
  2. Mrs. B. Navanathini with sight impairment from Poonagary, Kilinochchi,
  3. Mrs. U. Yogarani, having lost a hand with a husband mentally challenged and a child with a unique disability, From Kanaginagar, Visuvamadhu, Kilinochchi
  4. Mrs. D. Rasitha having lost both hands and a sight from Mulliyavalai, Mullaittivu

Two resource persons helped the group to plan out their activities. Ms. Thanusha from VAROD Finance Unit shared with the beneficiaries on the finance plan and saving methods. Ms. S. Sivajini, CRC leader from Ozhisudar group-Paranthan, shared her knowledge on Paultry.

VAROD along with the beneficiaries remembered Mr. Raja Mohan and his friends from Pforzheim Shree Nagapoosani Amman Temple in Germany.
