Oct 24th: Staff Awarding Ceremony & “Claret Arunothaym”- VAROD Girls Center Day

October 24th is an important Day for the Claretians as it is the Feast Day of St. Anthony Mary Claret (1807-1870), the founder of the Claretian Congregation. This day was marked with few important events at VAROD. The 24th Morning all the staff who had attended different trainings were awarded. In the evening, the “Claret Arunothaym”- VAROD Girls Center Celebrated its DAY.

The Awarding Ceremony for the Staff who had participated in different training was held in the morning. Mr. S. Sivapalan, a retired government teacher & Center Manager, SCCISL Vavuniya was the Chief Guest for the Event. Mr. A. Caleesious, the Programme Manager, ZOA-Vavuniya was the Guest of Honour. The capacity building of the VAROD staff was carried out with the support of ZOA from March 2011.

VAROD Girls Center- “Claret Arunothaym” celebrated the Girls’ center’s Day with Joy. The Event was combined with the Feast of St. Claret and in remembrance of the Founders. Rt. Rev. Dr. Rayappu Joseph, the Bishop of Mannar made the event more colourful. The children staged their performance to entertain the visitors with different capabilities. Many religious were present for the occasion.

The release of our quarter report – Pathivugal was released as “Pathivugal III”. The first copy was handed over to His Lordship. VAROD had prepared a work “Thannambikai”: a video to motivate the Persons with disabilites (PWDs). It was played for the first time on this day.
