TRAVEL WITH NO REGRETS – A TRIP TO MANNAR

A day long outing was an exposure trip for the psychosocial wellbeing of VAROD’s inmates. It was a short journey from Vavuniya to Mannar, where VAROD’s residential staff were in charge with Rev Brothers at VAROD, volunteering in timely needed situations.

This trip temporarily disconnected our beneficiaries from their normal routine, where the expected outcome included providing situations for the beneficiaries to learn and get acquaintances with many new experiences at the beach, such as sea bathing, lazing around on the sands under the sky, making sand castles as well as collecting sea shells and corals. There were no substitutes for the real experiences they had. It is obvious, that this trip ensured the peace of mind to our beneficiaries.

Beneficiaries were provided with lunch , where accommodation and refreshments were provided by Rev Fr. Augustine at St Lawrence Church of Mannar. The Executive Director of VAROD and particular staff accompanied this outing. The studious attitudes and efforts successfully got completed and touched VAROD – Vavuniya around 07.30pm. Each one was tired but contented for sure. It is obvious, that this trip ensured the peace of mind to our beneficiaries.
