The Out-reach unit of the Claretians in Murikandy is opened

On the 13th of Feb, 2012 the building for the our-reach work for the people with disabilities was opened at Murikandy by Rev. Fr. Mathew Vatamattam CMF- the General Prefect of Formation of the Claretians. Rev. Fr. Stefan Wolf CMF- The Claretian Provincial of the Province of Germany blessed the building.

The Center would function for the empowerment of the people with disabilities. It has got an office, unit for the catch up classes, office for the Kilinochchi voluntary CBR work, and the physiotherapy unit. The physiotherapy unit would function as self-rehabilitation physiotherapy unit. The building would have a space for temporary office for the Mullaittivu voluntary CBR Staff. The building is being furnished- and would resume its activities very soon.

The center is build with the assistance of MANOS UNIDAS, specially the people with good heart from Madrid and with the assistance of the donations received from various people with good-will. The foundation stone was laid on the 26th of October, 2011.

The event was held amidst the presence of Fr. Mathew Vatamattam CMF- the General Prefect of Formation of the Claretians, Rev. Fr. Stefan Wolf CMF- The Claretian Provincial of the Province of Germany, Rev. Fr. Joy Mariaratnam CMF- the Delegate Superior of the Claretian Srilankan Delegation, Rev. Fr. Albert J Arulraja CMF- The Executive Director of VAROD, Rev. Fr. Ronald Sujeevan CMF- the Assistant Director and the Voluntary CBR staff in the field.
